Profile
A new player in Brazil's mining sector, MHAG acts independently of the overloaded logistics system that serves Southeast Brazil and the Port of Itaqui. Its parent company is Campina Participações S.A. (70%), with its other stakeholder (30%) being the Noble Group in Hong Kong.
The activities of MHAG encompass integrated iron ore mining, beneficiation, production and logistics operations and projects, particularly for exports.
So far, only four blocks (Jucurutu I, Jucurutu II, Cruzeta and São Mamede) have been explored through aeromagnetometric surveys, indicating a workable potential of 3.8 billion tons.
The geophysical studies and exploratory drilling campaigns conducted to date indicate itabirite - whose processing route is well known - as well as other types of iron ore whose processing routes are under development.
Assays of itabirite samples from the MHAG mines indicate that this iron ore is appropriate for producing high grade pellet feed.
Located close to the Brazilian coastline, the tight clustering of the MHAG blocks allows even more efficient logistics.
The Company is completing technical and economic studies on expanding its production capacities and exporting this output through another logistics route leading to the new port in Rio Grande do Norte State, in order to take full advantage of its proximity to the coast.
